Earth Goddess Cheeseboard Made to Order 4-6 Weeks

Textured slabs of earthenware – this mother earth goddess emerges from the hills above furrowed fields.

Measuring, approx 26cm long and 19 cm wide, my terra cotta earthenware picture dishes bear motifs of whimsy, cycles, and the Wiltshire countryside around me. Each one is hand carved and then painted, before being inlaid with oxide washes and finally glaze fired. The theme of each motif continues to the reverse, which is textured with custom made rollers and impression tools.

The handbuilt, earthy style rejects the confines of machined symmetry, instead offering interesting visual lines and tactile satisfaction.
