White Horse Cheeseboard

Textured slabs of earthenware – the Cherhill White Horse chalk figure on its hill above furrowed fields.

Measuring, approx 26cm long and 19 cm wide, my terra cotta earthenware picture dishes bear motifs of whimsy, cycles, and the Wiltshire countryside around me. Each one is hand carved and then painted, before being inlaid with oxide washes and finally glaze fired. The theme of each motif continues to the reverse, which is textured with custom made rollers and impression tools.

The handbuilt, earthy style rejects the confines of machined symmetry, instead offering interesting visual lines and tactile satisfaction.

You will receive one board, as above, please note each is hand carved and painted – no two are exactly alike.
